On October 16, 2005 Post 7356 had the great pleasure of
"Welcoming Home" the 326th Area Support Group
of the U.S. Army Reserves from Iraq
the following photographs tell the story.
The troops were met at the Kansas Turnpike by members of
the Post, Shriners, and Combat Veterans Motorcycle escort teams. They
were escorted to the Post two abreast with over 100 motorcycles leading the
escort. Upon arrival to Missouri 45 highway and I-435 they were met by a
South Platte Fire Pumper giving them lights and siren escort towards the
Post. At South Platte Fire Station 3 a ladder truck was flying the
U.S. Flag over the highway and members of the fire company and members of
the VFW lined the roadway saluting their entry. Ninety soldiers were
welcomed home and presented with an awards ceremony by the Army Reserves.
The Post them opened our doors to food and beverages and support. The
parking lot was full with overflow parking both east and west of the Post.
What a terrific day for Post 7356. |
