The Wade V. Scott Memorial Hall was dedicated on October 7th, 2000 by official proclamation from the Missouri House of Representatives General Assembly and was presented to the Post by District 30 Representative Fred Pouche.  Major General David R. Gast, Deputy Chief of Staff Research, Development and  Acquisition, U.S. Army Material Command, of Alexandria, Virginia was the keynote speaker.  Major General Gast had the following to say about Wade V. Scott.

Wade V. Scott was born on December 23, 1910 and died in March 13, 2000.  He graduated in 1928 from Smithville High School, Smithville, Missouri.  After graduation he worked in a garage as a mechanic.  This was the beginning of a career that would take him through his life.

In December 1942 Scotty enlisted in the Army and attended basic training at Fort Lewis, WA.  He was shipped to Greenland where he served as Master Mechanic in an Engineering Detachment.  He stayed in Greenland until the conclusion of World War II.  During his three year and nine month tenure he rose through the ranks from Private to Master Sergeant.

After the death of his beloved Melba on March 12, 1978, Scotty turned his attention to the VFW, where he recruited membership for Post 7356.  As a VFW charter member, he chartered the Post 7356 in 1986 with fifty-four members.  Many of the members are World War II veterans who are still in the Kansas City area.  During his tenure with Post 7356, Scotty held positions as State Aide-De-Camp from1988 to 1989 and due to his excellence in recruiting and support of Buddy Poppy sales was elevated to National and State Aide-De-Camp from 1991 to 1992.
